Following the success of our past MBC webinars, we are pleased to announce that Europa Donna will hold the 2024 edition of its METASTATIC BREAST CANCER ADVOCACY WEBINAR on Friday 7 June 2024.

The webinar will be open to approximately 50 MBC advocates. Building on our past conferences and trainings, this webinar will ensure the continued development of advocacy activities on behalf of women with MBC in countries throughout Europe and beyond.

The MBC Advocacy Webinar will take place from 9.00 until 16.30 CEST.

Applications should be submitted by Sunday, 26 May 2024 by clicking on this LINK.

Candidates will be either breast cancer advocates who have MBC or advocates who do not have MBC but are actively involved in your forum’s MBC advocacy programmes, or who intend to become involved in MBC advocacy.

The 16th Europa Donna Pan-European Conference will take place on 28 & 29 October 2023 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Join us in Zagreb, a charming and vibrant capital where Continental Europe, the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe meet, to come together and network with advocates from many countries, to share ideas, gain inspiration, and acquire the knowledge needed to break barriers and improve services in your country.

EUROPA DONNA’s 16th Pan-European Conference will provide participants with the latest information and tools to help them break barriers in breast cancer advocacy in their countries. Top scientific experts will offer lectures on topics such as surgery, radiation, genetic testing, and breast imaging. Implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan will be covered in a keynote speech by Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety and former ED President. Progress on the ECIBC project and topics of interest to advocates will be outlined such as survivorship and QoL, management of side effects, exercise and MBC, and the changing face of managing breast cancer at different stages of life. Advocates will hear lively panel discussions on cutting edge subjects including advocating for people with risk factors such as dense breasts, identifying and overcoming inequalities, and becoming active in breast cancer research. Throughout the conference, attendees will be able to actively discuss, give their points of view and ask questions to the experts.

EUROPA DONNA – The European Breast Cancer Coalition is dedicated to giving people with metastatic breast cancer the tools to advocate for best practices that address the unique needs of those living with the disease.

We are pleased to announce that Europa Donna will hold the annual MBC Advocacy Webinar on Friday 16 June 2023. The webinar will be open to approximately 50 MBC advocates. The webinar will be open to MBC advocates from our all of our member countries, plus a couple special guests from extra European countries as a consequence of a cooperation project with ABC Global Alliance. Building on our past conferences and trainings, this webinar will ensure the continued development of advocacy activities on behalf of women with MBC in countries throughout Europe and beyond.

The MBC Advocacy webinar will take place from 9.00 until 16.00 CEST covering Treatment and research specific to MBC, emotional support for MBC patients, working with MBC and will then take a deep dive into ED’s current MBC Awareness Campaign.

Candidates will be either breast cancer advocates who have MBC or advocates who do not have MBC but are actively involved in your forum’s MBC advocacy programmes, or who intend to become involved in MBC advocacy.

ED is seeking a Social Media and Office Administrator to start June 2023.

Background:

Founded in 1994, EUROPA DONNA – The European Breast Cancer Coalition is an independent non-profit organization whose members are affiliated groups from countries throughout Europe. The Coalition works to raise awareness of breast cancer and to mobilise the support of European women in pressing for improved breast cancer education, appropriate screening, optimal treatment and increased funding for research.

Europa Donna currently has national groups in 47 member countries. Its Head Office is located in Milan, Italy but it is an international organization whose official language is English, so all written and oral correspondence is in English.

The Position:

The candidate will have the following tasks:

• Managing ED’s online presence, with a specific focus on targeting and engaging with national organisations and EU policy and decision-makers in the field of public health and breast cancer
• Managing ED’s social media presence:
  • Managing and continuously updating the editorial plan
  • Creating effective and engaging content and campaigns daily, including clear, action-oriented messages and visuals
  • Engaging the online community by responding to posts and developing discussions
  • Monitoring and reporting social media performance
• Assist CEO with preparation of .ppt presentations, speeches, interviews, draft of emails, etc.
• Support ED Staff with the organization of events and congresses

Skills needed:

• Mother tongue English
• Experience as a social media manager (for at least 2 years), with solid knowledge of managing social media accounts, including community building and engagement, performance reporting, and the use of various tools and software, including networks analysis
• University degree, preferably in a relevant field such as communication science, journalism, public relations, or marketing, with a proven track record in (public) health policy
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Skilled in basic graphic design and experienced in working with creative agencies is a plus
• Strong, provable commitment to ED’s vision and values / personal experience of breast cancer
• Knowledge of, or strong affinity towards health policy
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Pro-active, creative and curious
• Experience in a multi-national, multi-cultural environment
• Located in Milan metropolitan area

What we offer:

• Part-time (18 hours), based in Milan (office presence required)
